After the two decades of non-stop increase in childhood obesity in United States, it was recently reported that the obesity case is now leveling off because of the trends in maintaining a healthy body and including healthy food list on their meals. But there are also indications that this turn around applies to some kids more than others pertaining to the children on the poverty zone due to the low income that their parents receive making it insufficient for them to avail of some pro-health programs as well buying nutritious foods making them left behind among the survey report. Adding to the serious facts, these children do not have medical health insurance than among those who can afford Medicaid, the government-funded health plan.

Worse Scenario
“When we look at (obesity) rates broken down by income, we saw that for adolescents whose family incomes are below the poverty line, those rates have gone up, and not just slightly, but rather dramatically, explained Susan Babey PH. D, a senior research scientist at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Researh in Los Angeles pertaining to the theories about the decreased in obesity were smaller among children on Medicaid, not including list of healthy foods. He also added:” I think they may be the family environment, how the parents feed the children, how do they control or monitor the child’s eating in or physical activity.”

Two or Three Theories may not be enough
Over eating is the number one reason for obesity and researchers believed that this alone is not main target to shoot out but certain views must be monitored including healthy food list and some other aspects. Kristine Madsen, M.D. and assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco commented: “One of the most important things that have happened in the last decade is a tremendous increase in public awareness of the problem. I think environments are changing, day care centers, I think are actually more aware than they used to be some of the issues.”
