“New York literary agent Bill Clegg's first memoir counted down two months spent blowing $70,000 on a binge of crack cocaine and male escorts in New York's boutique hotels while avoiding loved ones and the publishing agency he built and owned. His newest book begins where the first left off with a new goal of 90 days. But this time around, Clegg is not out to kill himself with endless sleep-deprived, paranoid nights on cocaine. Instead, it's an account of getting sober and a journey of relapse and recovery”, Christian Kearney writes for Reuters.

““Ninety Days,” released in the United States this week, is Clegg’s second – and last, he promises – truth tale following 2010's “Portrait of an Addict as a Young Man.” That book shocked the New York media world, pleased critics, and enamored readers with Clegg's wrenching, honest style and the tragedy of his rise and fall. Rather than cashing in on his first book's sweeping success, Clegg, now 41, told Reuters in an interview he didn't feel he had any choice but to head straight into the next personal offering of his struggle with addiction”, Kearney continues.

“His new memoir begins with Clegg returning from a rehabilitation clinic to New York City, the tempting den of his many dances with drugs and alcohol. In an effort to stay sober, he joins an addicts support group, finds a sponsor, and begins a roller coaster ride to beating his habit. Clegg doesn't compare “Ninety Days”, which like his first memoir replaces some real names with pseudonyms, to the many recovery memoirs that have come before him, nor does he pretend to be an expert on addiction. It's simply his personal journey”, he adds.

Out of all the drugs that are ravaging the US up to present, cocaine is considered by some drug specialists and premier hospitals as the one who “does a lot of damage both to the healthy and mental well being of a person.” Indeed, it puts a lot of strain on the body of the user, so much that it results to the breaking down of the strong thinking capacity of that user, stripping it down into a feeble one.

Of course, getting back in shape after such an ordeal as this will be one of the hardest things to do; but when it is accompanied by healthy foods to eat included in the healthy grocery list, then even severe cases like Clegg’s can just be ready for a steady recovery in no time!

Of course, rehabilitation programs are all but important, but studies have showed that accompanying uh a rigorous process with a healthy meal – made out of healthy easy recipes and high class healthy ingredients – will be sure to help develop the patient’s body state and in turn, help recuperate his mind.

“The number of Americans lining up for new jobless benefits fell slightly last week but remained above levels posted earlier this year, suggesting improvement in the labor market is stalling. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped by 1,000 to 388,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. “This was a disappointing number and offers more evidence that the labor market continues to lose traction,” said Joe Manimbo, an analyst at Western Union Business Solutions in Washington”, Jason Lange writes for Reuters.

“Economists polled by Reuters had expected new claims to fall to 375,000. Still, a separate report offered fresh hopes of a pickup in the housing market, which has been a drag on wider economic growth since the 2007-2009 recession. The National Association of Realtors said contracts to purchase previously owned U.S. homes rose 4.1 percent to a near two-year high in March. U.S. stocks rose following the release of the home sales data, while concerns over the labor market pushed yields lower on U.S. government debt”, he continues.

“The report on jobless claims was the latest example of fizzling momentum in the labor market recovery. Employers added 120,000 new jobs to their payrolls in March, the least since October, after averaging 246,000 jobs per month over the prior three months. New claims for unemployment benefits fell sharply over the winter but the improvement has largely reversed over the last month. The four-week moving average for new claims, a closely followed measure of labor market trends, rose 6,250 last week to 381,750, its highest since the week that ended January 7”, Lange finishes.

What with all the problems that endlessly arises, the fact that health is a major concern and food is scarce will probably be one great influencing factor for most people to think they’re doomed. Surely, prices of everyday commodities in the market have beaten the fountain when it comes to the frequency of their prices skyrocketing. Even those included in the budget friendly healthy grocery list seem to be more expensive as time passes!

Of course, it is imperative that families see to it that they have healthy foods for kids, after all, a young mind needs a lot of nourishment. With the fact of the prices being taken into account, it is probably economical if more families opt to learn how to become a vegetarian because of these reasons: vegetables are relatively cheaper, they contain most of the required food groups to help anyone get through the day, and of course, it’s a good change of pace once in a while.  To get by the current situations, one must only seek the most effective yet best alternatives, like eating healthy for example.

“The government said Thursday that 68,000 guns recovered by Mexican authorities in the past five years have been traced back to the United States. The flood of tens of thousands of weapons underscores complaints from Mexico that the U.S. is responsible for arming the drug cartels plaguing its southern neighbor. Six years of violence between warring cartels have killed more than 47,000 people in Mexico”, Pete Yost of Associated Press writes.

“The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives released its latest data covering 2007 through 2011. According to ATF, many of the guns seized in Mexico and submitted to ATF for tracing were recovered at the scenes of cartel shootings while others were seized in raids on illegal arms caches. All the recovered weapons were suspected of being used in crimes in Mexico. At an April 2 North American summit in Washington, Mexican President Felipe Calderon said the U.S. government has not done enough to stop the flow of assault weapons and other guns from the U.S. to Mexico. Calderon credited President Barack Obama with making an effort to reduce the gun traffic, but said Obama faces “internal problems ... from a political point of view””, Yost continues.

“There is Republican opposition in Congress and broad opposition from Republicans and gun-rights advocates elsewhere to a new assault weapons ban or other curbs on gun sales. The Obama administration says it is working to tighten inspections of border checkpoints in the absence of an assault rifle ban that expired before Obama took office. For more than a year, ATF has been reeling from accusations that some of its agents in Arizona were ordered by superiors to step aside rather than intercept illicit loads of weapons headed for Mexico”, he finishes.

One great reason for this many a guns being present in the bustling culturally rich country of Mexico would be that it aids in the fruition of a lot of crimes there. Apart from that, the problem of poverty is also one great contributing factor; of course when you can’t seem to find meat, you’d settle on how to become a vegetarian as vegetables are much cheaper. But with such meat loving people as the Mexicans, they are finding it quite hard to stick to such a foreign yet equally healthy diet fad.

Of course, stealing and drug abuse are already bad things themselves, but the existence of such dangerous firearms prove some things: that people are now in bad need of healthy foods to eat and that they don’t have enough money to supply their shopping of healthy ingredients in their healthy food list.  Because of such dire need for something so precious, even local townsfolk are finding it endearing to have a little protection and some easy words using their firearms, hence the outpour of firearms hailed from the US.

For the past 10 years, poverty has raked its way through the competition and has become the most troubling dilemma of all. Naturally, this is so as the very word ‘poverty’ itself is an understatement, being it the very summary of the masses’ problems. When you’re poor, you tend to come across a webbed string of unfortunate events: you can’t have adequate access to basic necessities, you most likely can’t pursue your dreams, you can’t pretty much provide your family with the best life and the simplest yet most basic – you can’t have access to any healthy foods to eat at all!

Surely, anyone else faces problems with concerns to the first three, but with the fact of being withheld the innate privilege to munch on these healthy foods to eat, you may as well have been banned the right to breathe air or the right to enjoy life at its fullest. And how can I say that, you ask? Well of course, we all know that eating is among the simple pleasures in life, don’t you think so too?

When eating, we open up ourselves to a lot of beauty! For example when you eat grapes (grapes is after all, one of my favorite fruits!),; when you do so and you do it by munching on several lush globes of grapes all at the same time, it almost feels like you’re savoring a carnival of flavors! The fact that these purple globes would burst in your mouth and surprise you with their pungent yet sweet taste is enough to put anyone’s distressed mind at ease.

Of course I’m not saying that you stick with an all-grapes diet plan to replace your low carb diet plan! Although I must say, having a low carb diet plan is already a great decision as this certain diet is among the healthiest and most effective way to have a rather healthy physique. What I’m saying here is that you should be able to know and pinpoint foods that are under the healthy category.

Lastly, be sure that you make an effort to really, really know your personal healthy grocery list. By doing this, you must be able to know the exact places where healthy ingredients can be found at half their original price! Surely, a place like that exists, what you just need to do is ask around, maybe from people who truly value the idea of eating healthy.

After the two decades of non-stop increase in childhood obesity in United States, it was recently reported that the obesity case is now leveling off because of the trends in maintaining a healthy body and including healthy food list on their meals. But there are also indications that this turn around applies to some kids more than others pertaining to the children on the poverty zone due to the low income that their parents receive making it insufficient for them to avail of some pro-health programs as well buying nutritious foods making them left behind among the survey report. Adding to the serious facts, these children do not have medical health insurance than among those who can afford Medicaid, the government-funded health plan.

Worse Scenario
“When we look at (obesity) rates broken down by income, we saw that for adolescents whose family incomes are below the poverty line, those rates have gone up, and not just slightly, but rather dramatically, explained Susan Babey PH. D, a senior research scientist at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Researh in Los Angeles pertaining to the theories about the decreased in obesity were smaller among children on Medicaid, not including list of healthy foods. He also added:” I think they may be the family environment, how the parents feed the children, how do they control or monitor the child’s eating in or physical activity.”

Two or Three Theories may not be enough
Over eating is the number one reason for obesity and researchers believed that this alone is not main target to shoot out but certain views must be monitored including healthy food list and some other aspects. Kristine Madsen, M.D. and assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco commented: “One of the most important things that have happened in the last decade is a tremendous increase in public awareness of the problem. I think environments are changing, day care centers, I think are actually more aware than they used to be some of the issues.”
